Some stories ask to be sung.
A character, a room, a moment that refuses to leave. That is often where a story begins for me. Sometimes it needs a book. Sometimes it asks for a verse and a chorus.
I’ve opened a YouTube channel for that other form of storytelling: original country and Americana lyrics, shared through reference demos. There are highways and dance floors here, people trying to stay, people trying to leave, and the things they almost manage to say.
These are not departures from the books so much as different rooms in the same house. The space is smaller. The words have to leave room for a voice—and for everything a voice can carry without saying it outright.
The demos offer possible directions, not final destinations. I wrote the lyrics; the music and vocals were generated to illustrate one possible interpretation, not a performance or a finished artist release. I’m interested in what happens next: another voice, a new melody, a collaboration that takes a lyric somewhere I could not have taken it alone.
